With reference to Sir Henry Blake's Des-patches Nos. 324, 366 and 368 of August 23rd, and September 13th, and 16th, 1901, I have the honour to point out that two vacancies were created in the Senior Grade Masterships at Queen's College during the year 1901 in consequence of the retirement of Mr. Barlow and the appointment of Mr. Woodcock to be Secretary of the Sanitary Board.

Mr. Ralphs has been appointed 3rd Assistant Master Senior Grade as from July 19th vice Mr. Woodcock. I now recommend that Mr. Grant of the Junior Grade be appointed 4th Assistant Master Senior Grade as from the 19th of October, the date of Mr. Barlow's retirement.

I would point out that the two vacancies mentioned in paragraph 2 of your Despatch No. 416, the appointments to which it is proposed to defer until a further report on the working of Queen's College has been received, are in
